R E V I E W | Hidden Among Us

Hidden Among Us by Katy Moran is one of those story's where I didn't know quite what to expect and I loved it!

"When Lissy meets a mysterious and strangely beautiful boy on her way to Hopesay Edge, she is deeply unsettled by their encounter.

She discovers that the boy, Larkspur, is a member of the Hidden, an ancient group of elven people, whose secrets lie buried at Hopesay Reach. Before long, Lissy and her brother Rafe find themselves caught by a powerful magic and fighting to escape a bargain that can never be broken."

The story is told through for different perspectives :
Fourteen year old Lissy - our heroine, a young girl who has a wild nature but has lived a sheltered life, her mother is extremely over protective of her.
Eighteen year old Rafe, Lissy's older brother who is obsessed with finding out the truth and unraveling the secrets about what happened to his sister fourteen years ago.
Fourteen year old Joe who is the son of Lissy's mothers partner, who is sweet young boy who finds him self almost immediately bewitched by Lissy's peculiar elegance and ethereal looks, and winds up getting mixed up in all kinds of trouble
And Miriam, Lissy's french mother, her views are written through journal entries of past and present events that add background content to the narrative.

I don't want to divulge in to the story line in case I ruin the plot but its well worth reading. The story is fast paced and I was hooked from the very first chapter. There's mystery and intrigue, twists and turns, mixed up with folklore and a tangle of family relationships.
I really enjoyed this book and sped through it!
